Dr. Ricarda Schmidt is a psychologist and researcher in behavioral medicine at the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, University of Leipzig Medical Center, Germany. Her research focuses on avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) and binge-eating disorder, and she has published extensively in these areas. She is actively involved in developing the German clinical practice guidelines for ARFID and serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Eating Disorders. Dr. Schmidt has received several awards for her scientific contributions, including the Hilde Bruch Award of the German Society for Eating Disorders and the Young Investigator Award of the Eating Disorders Research Society (EDRS). In addition to her academic work, she is currently training in systemic psychotherapy.
