Dr McNeil is the current Therapies, Early Intervention and Peer Support Lead within the Specialist Eating Disorder Service (and Feeding Difficulties Pathway), Forward Thinking Birmingham (FTB). She has worked extensively with children and young adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, including Eating Disorders. She has a passion for service innovation and early intervention with current interests in addressing health inequalities and reducing barriers to care for disadvantaged groups. She continues to work alongside SLaM & KCL, BEAT and the Health Innovation Network to raise awareness, capture the voices of these groups and develop clinician resources.
Her current work within FTB includes developing the ARFID treatment pathway for Children and Young people across Birmingham. Within her previous AHSN role she supported the successful ‘roll out’ of FREED, First Episode Rapid Early Intervention for Eating Disorders, across the East and West Midlands services, as well as supporting those services (including her own) to become tailor-made to meet the needs of the culturally rich and vibrant populations they serve.
